Charleston, WV Relatives of those who died in the Buffalo plane crash are urging lawmakers to develop stronger safety laws to prevent future airplane crashes. Fifty people died when Continental Connection flight 3407 went down near Buffalo, New York on February 12, 2009.

Midland, TX The family of a Texas woman killed in a head-on Texas car crash on the first day of summer has hired a lawyer to bring a wrongful death suit on her behalf. Marina Lisa Robles and her passenger Joe Luis Ramon, both 47, were killed when the car they were driving was struck by a business vehicle driven by a man with a "history of alcohol and / or drug offences," according to the Robles family's attorney.

Defective Whitco Stadium Light Poles Recalled Following Reports of Collapse

Washington, DC About 2,500 lighting poles 70 feet or greater in height are being recalled by the manufacturer, Whitco Company of Forth Worth, TX, because the poles can fracture or crack and fall over, posing a risk of serious injury or death to patrons and bystanders from being hit or crushed. The poles range from 1 to 4 tons increasing the risk of death if the pole falls toward a crowded stadium or onto a building.
