Two Dead in Crossover Missouri Car Accident

Northland, MOTwo people were killed in a dramatic crossover car accident on Missouri 291, south of Kansas City on Saturday, May15.

The accident occurred late Saturday night, when a black Trans Am, driven by 22-year old Charles J. Boyer went over the center line hitting a PT Cruiser driven by Julie G. Braughton. Boyer was traveling east bound at the time of the accident.

The impact from the crash threw Boyer from his vehicle. Forty-year old Braughton remained trapped in her car for nearly 20 minutes while firefighters struggled to free her. She was taken to hospital but died a few hours later.

The police do not yet know why Boyer crossed the center line of the highway, and no information has been released as to whether alcohol or speed were factors in the crash. Similarly, there are no reports as yet as to who was or was not wearing seatbelts.

Both Braughton and Boyer lived in Kansas City.
