Palmdale, CA In the days and hours leading up to February 6, 2011, the Cardona family of Palmdale could have no idea that their lives were about to change dramatically, and not for the better. That often happens when a DUI (driving under the influence) incident finds you. As it turns out, almost $21 million dollars has also found the Cardona family, but for reasons that have more to do with justice than good fortune.

Los Angeles, CA Six people, including four family members, are dead, killed at the scene of a multi-car collision on the westbound Pomona Freeway in Diamond Bar, CA in which driving under the influence is the suspected cause. According to media reports the two others killed included the sister of the woman driving a Chevy Camaro, who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and manslaughter.

Mansfield, OH Driving while under the influence is, of course, morally reprehensible and all the clichéd adjectives apply: foolish, stupid, dangerous, irresponsible. However, if you are ever pulled over for drunk driving, just hope that it's in Ohio, where State regulators have adopted, in principle, a machine that is facing lawsuits in several other states as being unreliable. The latter can affect DUI law and a good DUI attorney can certainly use a tester with a dubious reputation to help your case.
