  • zan thornton August 16, 2016 at 4:43 pm

What can folks do if not 200whatever Ford class suit?
It’s the same engine 5.4 liter 8 cyl. But it 1997.
Blew out a spark plug and coil. What can I do to get reimbursed for a clearly recall able item. It’s my RV in Ford Ecoliner-06/1997 93,079 miles.
My Lincoln has same engine but 1998.
    Atlanta area.

  • Jeriel Mikell August 21, 2016 at 12:31 am

    • Charles Ploof November 21, 2016 at 3:52 pm

I own the same truck and im sitting in a Ford dealership now waiting to find out why it wont run right! Sounds like a diesel. Stalls at low rpm without fail. Absolutely no power on ANY type of an upgrade. Spits and sputters and barley moves while the check engine light looks like a strobe light!

      • Dan November 23, 2016 at 10:43 am

Hi Charles, please post the results of the dealr’s findings. That sounds exactly like the truck I have parked in my yard

      • gary November 24, 2016 at 10:40 pm

        CHARLES PLOOF;
I sent in for the claim last year; still haven’t heard anything. Earlier this year, started getting spitting, sputtering, struggling to run smooth. Took it to be checked out. Replaced 1 coil pack. Returned the next day, same place; testing showed the rest of the coil packs had to be replaced. So, it’s run smooth since all coil packs were replaced.

      • Ron Cubed November 26, 2016 at 10:10 pm

That is the Cam Phasers, which should be another lawsuit.

      • Howard November 29, 2016 at 11:33 pm

that’s what mine was doing I thought my transmission was going out went to the transmission shop the mechanic got in the truck we drove a half a block and he told me it was not the transmission he said my spark plugs went bad and that’s what it was $745 later my truck runs great I’ve been waiting on this lawsuit for a long long time I just don’t know which lawyers to call I think they’re waiting for the interest to build up on a 2. I think they’re waiting for the interest to build up on a 2.2 million so they can make more money than they would distribute the money

  • Donald Garloff August 22, 2016 at 4:09 pm

Sent in our claim over a year ago and NOTHING!!!! Yep, last Ford at our house!! Can’t even call and find out where the process is!! What a crap deal!!

  • Russell Carey August 23, 2016 at 2:30 pm

11/9/2015 I sent my claim in regarding spark plugs I have heard NOTHING from Ford. When I call the number all I get is a recording. Recording indicate we should start getting reimbursement late spring it is now late Summer.

  • John Burns August 23, 2016 at 6:13 pm

Filed last fall nothing at all. You can bet the lawyers are getting paid.

  • Carl Watral August 24, 2016 at 5:03 pm

My auto technician suggested that I file a claim for difficulty in replacing the spark plugs in my 2006 Navigator with 84K miles

  • Maria August 25, 2016 at 8:00 am

  • Carl J Cooper September 1, 2016 at 2:04 pm

I filed my claim form and receipts for the work done on my 2005 expedition Nov 25th ,2015 and was assured to receive reimbursement by late spring 2016. why isn t Ford sending out the promised refunds ?

  • James Wynn September 3, 2016 at 7:26 pm

With so many claims going to ford or WHOEVER put this out there. I am NOW believing that IF ford did so, then this is just one of THEIR many ways of finding out who has these type of vehicle’s and how long some have owned them. FORD does not CARE about ANY of us. All they want is the MONEY and MORE money coming to FORD. If this really is a good thing FOR YOU AND ME, then the LAWYERS have ALREADY spent all of it. That’s WHY all we get is MORE information posted out there.

  • David bland September 5, 2016 at 1:35 pm

I have had excellent results on my 2005 f-150 with the 5.4 engine. However this spark plug issue and getting my claim settled has got me thinking of buying a real American made truck, a Toyota.

  • Joe September 11, 2016 at 5:53 pm

sent ours in over a year ago heard nothing

  • joe mcgonagle September 12, 2016 at 9:33 pm

I have a 2001 f250 with the 5.4L engine am I covered under the lawsuit too? my truck has spit out 4 spark plugs already I want to know if ford will fix my truck and reimburse me for all the money I spent

  • Carol September 13, 2016 at 11:34 pm

  • Ron Levergood September 15, 2016 at 11:58 am

I sent my paper work in on 2015 with a return signarture receipt, which they did get my paper work and did sign for it, But have heard nothing on this issue, I was told that checks were to be mailed out in Aug 2016. Any up date.

  • Karen September 20, 2016 at 9:20 am

Is there any new information about the payout? Sent mine off 1 year ago now and have not heard a word. Website never updates.

    • Dan Skinner September 20, 2016 at 11:11 pm

I was talked out of any compensation by the attorney handling this lawsuit due to doing the job myself. How about my 8 hours and tool purchases for this job and the new type plugs that were the same as broke off in the first place.? Way to go Ford.

    • Harry September 21, 2016 at 12:58 pm

Any info on the Ford reimbursement

  • Cynthia September 21, 2016 at 5:30 pm

Sent my paperwork in prior to January of this year, still no response. Website says the same thing every time I visit it.

  • Guy G. Burgio September 26, 2016 at 3:53 pm

How can you check to see if your claim has been received and/or being processed?

  • John Gun October 3, 2016 at 9:44 pm

I contacted Ford. They are not settling any lawsuit. They do not know anything about this. We have been had.

  • Marcia and Larry Larson October 4, 2016 at 2:13 pm

Same here OER 9 months ago– we filled the necessary paperwork before the time line they wanted- we bent over backwards to get this all done- we copied the work order to replace the plugs 6 out of 8 broke off and the tool FORD made for this problem- it cost us over 2000.00 to replace the plugs this will be the LAST FORD ever to come down our driveway after this experience total fed up!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Marcia and Larry Larson October 4, 2016 at 2:17 pm

Hi Everyone, you can continue to check the status of the settlement at the Claims Administrator’s site for the Ford spark plug settlement–that’s at this link: http://www.fordsparkplugsettlement.com/
Additionally, there are documents there from the case–all the filings. Keep in mind, settlement distributions can take some time. The settlement was finalized early this year–the claims administrator has to go through each and every claim form submission to validate it before the actual distribution of the settlement starts. It can take time to do that. It’s not the best answer–or the one that many of you want to hear–but it’s the reality. The link above is “command central” for the settlement.

    • Garry October 5, 2016 at 11:05 am

It shouldn’t take almost a year to do this. U

    • gary October 28, 2016 at 2:45 am

Ummmm. The response we received via email is “We thank you for your patience. Yes, we have confirmed your mailed claim submission received on 11/03/16.” ummmmm, 11/03/16 has NOT arrived yet, according to our calendar. Please explain the date?

      • Admin November 3, 2016 at 8:57 pm

Hi Gary, We can’t really explain why your response had a date that hasn’t happened yet. The claims administration process for this class action is handled by the claims administrator, Renkim Corporation–and all updates regarding claims processing has to come through them. So checking their updates on the web page for this settlement, as well as keeping in touch with other claimants, as you are here, is the best way to find out any new updates.

    • Tracey November 5, 2016 at 11:41 am

Is there any way we can verify if they did receive our claims? I have been waiting over a year for our settlement.

      • Ron Levergood November 9, 2016 at 1:04 pm

I sent my forms in twice and the third time I sent it in with a post office return signature receipt request which I did receive a return receipt that that someone did sign for it so ford did receive my form, that was beginning of 2016 and have heard nothing since.

  • Dan October 12, 2016 at 9:35 am

Same thing as everyone else here! I took my truck to a mechanic last week to have the plugs replaced and he couldn’t get them out and stopped because he was afraid they’d break off causing more issues. So what are we to do!? Clearly not buying another Ford is our best long term action but in the meantime I’m stuck with this one and need to get these plugs replaced.

  • ken October 15, 2016 at 10:50 pm

It has been 12 months since I sent all my documents and have heard nothing.

  • Karen October 19, 2016 at 9:30 pm

Email response I received. Still not much information.

We thank you for your patience. Yes, we have confirmed your mailed claim submission received on 11/03/16.

The settlement administrator is currently processing claims submitted by class members. We understand your stake in this matter, and assure you that there is nothing else that can be done at this time by claimants who have already submitted their forms and paperwork. Class members will be notified after their claims have been processed. For any other inquiries, please continue visiting the settlement website.

    Regards,

  • Gary Heath October 28, 2016 at 2:47 am

  • James T Wynn November 3, 2016 at 10:48 pm

I sent in MY claim last DEC. 2015 All paper work RECEIVED your MAIL room on 11 Dec 2015 @ 9:48 am signed for by Sonny C. Runyons I hope that is the correct spelling of this persons name. It has soon been a year since YOU received ALL MY PAPER work. WHY HAVENT I HEARD FROM YOU in the last year. If this is NOT a JOKE from ford I sure would appreciate an answer from you. Thank you and have a good day.

  • Michalle November 8, 2016 at 3:21 pm

Submitted all documentation on October 2015, and i have not heard any updates, tried to follow up and the number on paper work said payments would be processed mid summer? that has come and went, and now there is not new time frame. I would like to know the status of my claim, where do we all go to view that??

  • Karen November 13, 2016 at 12:16 pm

Thank you for your patience, Ms Hicks.
We understand your concern, but as long as your claim was submitted, there is no other information until it is reviewed. The high volume of submissions is making the processing of claims take longer than previously expected. Please note that your individual claim, along with all submitted claims, will receive a mailed response. This means a reimbursement check if the claim is approved, or a letter of explanation if it is not approved – along with instructions for an appeals process and re-submission of the claim with added documentation if appropriate. But one way or the other, you will receive a mailed response after the review processing has completed.

    Regards,
    http://www.fordsparkplugsettlement.com

This is the most recent response I have received.

  • Art November 21, 2016 at 6:18 pm

received a response dated 11/16/16 from ford about spark plug settlement. They would not accept the paper work that I sent to them even though it provided all their requirements for proof. It only took a little over two years for them to respond to me. I have less than a month to file and appeal to the response. What a joke!!!!!!!!!

  • wendy December 8, 2016 at 9:56 am

same as everyone else submitted long ago and have not heard anything…

  • Harry Fry December 14, 2016 at 3:05 pm

My claim was received by Ford in Dec. of 2015. How long does it take to cut a check?
I worked for Ford for over 30 yrs., most of the time in an Accounting Dept. To me, this
is a piss poor reaction time.

  • Bob December 25, 2016 at 2:14 pm

I received a letter(sent claim 10-20-15) from them yesterday. It said I needed to list the mileage at the time of service. It took 16 months to hear from them. Now I must resubmit.

    • Ron December 28, 2016 at 2:06 pm

A week after I received a letter regarding the law suite in 2015 I sent twice the info for my 2006 Ford Expedition to Ford, The second time I sent the info I sent with a return signature Receipt request , Which I did receive a Signature return Receipt back , AMMCO had to replace all my plugs which they all execpt one broke off. I have not had any response from anyone

      • Gary January 7, 2017 at 2:32 pm

Whoooo Hoooo! Sent in paperwork end of 2015 & finally received check.

    • ROBIN JACOBSEN January 5, 2017 at 3:33 pm

Unreal, the are going to keep rejecting claims so they dont have to pay!

  • R Cortez December 26, 2016 at 4:37 pm

Send my claim in 2015 with all my paper work, for it cost me over six hundred to to replace the spark plugs at a ford Dealership with my understanding I should have recieved a least 300.00 dollers back for work on my 04 f-150 got a check back on 12-23-16 for 64.88 ! so don’t expect any great same old story little guy gets ripped off by the big company !!

    • Gary December 28, 2016 at 6:57 pm

we received a call from the group explaining blah, blah, that everyone’s expecting a large reimbursement but the average reimbursement is $30 something to less than $100.

  • Pat December 28, 2016 at 12:56 pm

Wow…I thought that by sending my claim in August 2016, I would have heard by now (December 28, 2016). My out of pocket expenses to the Ford dealer were $3070.95!

  • J. Smith December 30, 2016 at 3:21 pm

Just got my claim sent back to me after 1 year. The repair bill I submitted for the spark plug removal did not have my trucks mileage or a ” PAID ” stamp on it. It was rejected and I now have til the 20th of January 2017 to re-submit. I have since moved and cannot bother the garage to send me another invoice that was over 5 years old..PAID cannot be handwritten on bill .way too much BS. Been buying Fords since 1981… switching to Chevrolet.

  • Ron Paustian January 1, 2017 at 6:24 pm

just received my check last week. It was for $28.07. The cost to change out my plugs was $500. I am very disappointed in the check amount and extremely disappointed in Ford. They said that any one with $500,00 or less would receive 100% of your money back, I am never going tp buy a ford again, and I bought Ford all my life.

    • Garry January 4, 2017 at 10:31 am

No. The information we read was a breakdown % of repair amount reimbursed. The person we spoke to said checks are averaging almost $30 – not much more than that.
      We’re still waiting.
