Ponka City Plane Crash

A plane crash yesterday, December 4, near the airport in Ponca City left one man dead and another man critically injured. One man was taken by ambulance to Ponca City Medical Center, where he later died. The other man was taken by helicopter to a Wichita, Kansas hospital.

The two-seater plane that crashed was a 1966 Piper Cherokee with tail number N8320R, according to Federal Aviation Administration records. The cause of the crash is not yet known, but investigators with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board were en route to the crash site Saturday.
