Atlantic-Conn Transit Inc.

This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.

Ridgefield, CT: The town of Ridgefield filed a lawsuit against the school system's former bus contractor over the 2002-2003 school year busing contract. The school board sought bids when a busing contract came up, but Atlantic-Conn unexpectedly signed a new union contract, giving bus drivers substantial pay increases. Ridgefield school officials said the surprise contract signing was designed to scare off other bidders. The lawsuit claimed Atlantic-Conn abused the process and tried to scare off bid competition by signing an over-generous union contract with drivers. Atlantic-Conn Transit will pay the town a nearly $1 million settlement. (Nov-16-06) [RIDGEFIELD PRESS: BUSING CONTRACT]
