Warner Bros. Television Productions Lawsuit Dismissed

Amaani Lyle, who once worked as a writer's assistant for the TV show, "Friends", lost the law suit she filed against the writers for gender harassment.

Lyle claimed that the vulgar and coarse comments by the show's writers offended her. In a unanimous decision, the California Supreme Court threw out the gender harassment lawsuit against the makers of "Friends", stating that Lyle had been warned prior to being hired that she would be subject to sexually charged discussions. The court further ruled that since the explicit language was not directed toward the complainant, Lyle could not claim that she was sexually harassed. (Apr-21-06) [ LOS ANGELES TIMES ]
