Small Plane Crash in Bahamas Kills One

A plane crash in the Atlantic Ocean, north of Nassau in the Bahamas, has left at least one person dead. According to reports from Royal Bahamas Defense Force officials rescuers found the body of one man floating among plane wreckage just off New Providence island. Luggage containing women's clothing was also spotted, but rescuers have not, as yet, located a second person.

"We have three vessels in the area of a U.S. cargo plane that crashed in the ocean northwest of Nassau this afternoon with two people aboard," Able Woman Marine T. Thompson, a spokeswoman for the Royal Bahamian Defense Forces told CNN.com

The names of the people on board have not been released. The twin engine Beechcraft was registered to Monarch Aircraft Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The company provides passenger air charter and cargo services.
