Hip Replacement and Cobalt Poisoning misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's

Palm Springs, CA: Robert’s hip replacement has served him well for many years, even though the metal-on-metal device was recalled by DePuy. Just recently, however, his cobalt levels have skyrocketed. “My husband is having cognitive issues, which seems to indicate cobalt poisoning,” says Trudy. “In January, DePuy said they would pay for surgery to have it removed but now they won’t cover it because my husband had the surgery in India. DePuy sells its devices worldwide, so what difference does it make?”

Hip Replacement Patient says Better Off Without

Seattle, WA: When Sharon had a Hip replacement she expected, and was told, it would improve her quality of life, her overall well-being. Instead, her health has deteriorated and she is totally disabled. And her third hip revision surgery is scheduled for next month.

Dr Shezad Malik, hip and knee attorney says that “plaintiffs are quietly confident they will prevail at trial based on the Johnson & Johnson smoking gun internal documents and based on the testimony of the plaintiffs’ experts.”

Attorney: Stryker Rejuvenate Shows Same Complications as Metal-On-Metal Devices

Palm Beach, FL Patients who received the Stryker Rejuvenate hip replacement system may have initially been relieved that their hip device was not one of the implants under recent scrutiny from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Some patients have come forward, however, alleging they suffered damage similar to that caused by the faulty metal-on-metal hip devices. Ben Stewart, a hip implant attorney at Stewart Law Group says many patients may not realize that even though the Stryker Rejuvenate hip device is an alternative to metal-on-metal devices, it may have similar health risks.

Wright Conserve—Latest Hip Implant to Disappoint

New York, NY: Metal-on-metal hip replacements are "under the microscope these days," says attorney Felecia Stern. A partner in Bernstein Liebhard's mass tort group in New York City, Stern says the firm is currently evaluating lawsuits alleging Wright Conserve hip implants are designed defectively. "We are starting to get calls from Wright Conserve implant patients and we are still in the process of dealing with the ASR and Pinnacle cases. In the past, we have turned away the Wright Conserve implant cases, but we are starting to look at them more seriously," says Stern.
