Segway Millionaire Rides off Cliff and Dies

Jimi Heselden, the owner of the Segway Company, suffered a fatal accident on Sunday, when the Segway he was riding fell over a cliff and into the Wharfe river according to media reports, his body was discovered by a passerby around 11:40 am in the Bostan Spa area of North England.

Heselden was reportedly driving an off-road version of the famous Segway vehicle down a trail on his estate in North Yorkshire when it he went over the cliff and into the river. "At this time we do not believe the death to be suspicious," a police statement provided to the British daily The Telegraph states.

The Segway is a motorized scooter on which people can stand. It is controlled by the direction in which the rider leans. Heselden, a former miner, was just 62 years old, and ranked at 395 on the Sunday Times Rich List. He made his money from defence contracts.
