About 600 WoodMaster AFS 900 Outdoor Furnaces distributed by Northwest Manufacturing Inc, are being recalled because the temperature gauge can fail and cause fire in the fuel storage hopper, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

The firm is aware of 12 incidents of fire in the fuel storage hopper, in 3 of the instances blisters and minor burns to the hands were reported.

The furnaces were sold at authorized plumbing and heating stores nationwide and direct sales between July 2006 and February 2009 for about $6,000.
