CVS Pharmacies Selling 'Expired' Baby Food and Drugs

Drugstore Chain Warned by California Attorney General

The Southern Californian drugstore chain CVS has been selling products past their sell-by dates, including baby food and over-the-counter medications, and has consequently been told by the California Attorney General Jerry Brown, to stop.

In March, 2008, Investigators found 48 expired products in 26 CVS stores in Los Angeles, Orange county, and San Diego county.

While California law doesn't prohibit the sale of products past their expiry date, federal law stipulates that products must carry visible expiry dates.
