A similar situation happens with Reglan, the drug prescribed for acid reflux (GERD). If you’re lucky enough to find the actual owner of Reglan’s trademark—Schwarz Pharma, and more specifically Schwarz’ SRZ Properties subsidiary—you’ll be unlucky in finding much info about the new Reglan black box warning about Tardive Dyskinesia. There’s plenty of info about it on the web, just not at the Schwarz Pharma site. Transparent? No. Might I add that if you do a Google search for “SRZ Properties + Reglan” our recent blog post comes up numero uno in the search results—great for lawyersandsettlements.com, but a bit lame for Schwarz.
There are some companies, however, who do step up to the plate when it comes to a product recall. Case in point: Nutro Products. They recently had a recall on their Dry Cat Food. Nutro has a link right on the home page for the recall, and a complete explanation with FAQ’s and contact numbers. Transparent: Yes. Maybe Iovate and Schwarz should check out the Nutro site.
