This is a settlement for the Trademark, Copyright, Patent lawsuit.

Newport Beach, CA: (Jan-02-08) Officials from Acacia Research Corp. and Sprint Nextel Corp. announced that the companies had reached a settlement in their patent infringement dispute, ending all pending litigation surrounding it. Acacia Research Corp., which develops, acquires, and licenses patented technologies, stated that its Telematics Corp. unit reached a settlement with Sprint Nextel Corp. related to technology that displays vehicle information on maps. Sources claimed that the lawsuit, which was pending in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, was filed on Jan. 16, 2007. Other companies in the lawsuit include UPS Inc. and Motorola Inc. Under the settlement agreement, Acacia entered a license agreement with Sprint Nextel.
