Nantucket, MA

Nantucket, MA: (Mar-02-07) A lawsuit was filed against the town of Nantucket by Waste Options as a result of a prolonged contract dispute. In November 2006, the American Arbitration Association ruled in favor of Waste Options and ordered the town to pay the Rhode Island company just under $1.2 million for expenses related to the off-island shipping of construction and demolition waste, costs associated with the state regulatory approvals to distribute compost at the landfill, and the construction of a new lined cell.
