Retired hotel owner Mike Modi purchased 20 shares of stock for $1 million from the developer that was to be used as capital to enable it to immediately begin selling life insurance policies in the worker's compensation area. Modi was told the company could immediately generate over $20 million in insurance policy premiums through underwriting business which had already been committed. Modi filed a lawsuit against Jeremy Blackburn, the owner, for allegedly failing and refusing to issue the stock certificates as represented and agreed.
