Virginia Pilot Association

Carnival Corp. and the association had a disagreement of how to properly calculate the volumes of the "Fun Ships" sailed over the past decade. The Pilot Association uses those volumes, based on the ships' length, width and height, to assess fees for its services. Carnival filed a lawsuit in US District Court in Norfolk and claimed the Virginia Pilot Association overcharged fees for guiding its ships between the Atlantic Ocean and the port of Hampton Roads. The association and the cruise ship operator have settled the lawsuit where Carnival will collect $350,879.59. (Jan-03-07) [VIRGINIAN PILOT: CARNIVAL GUIDES]
