Stryker Corporation, CNOS and Siouxland Surgery Center

From 2000 to 2003, Stryker Corporation, based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, allegedly made payments to The Center for Neuroscienses, Orthopedics & Spine (CNOS) and Siouxland Surgery Center, of Dakota Dunes, to buy its orthopedic surgical products. Stryker Corp., an artificial joint manufacturer, along with the Dakota Dunes health clinic, has reached an agreement to pay $240,000, with CNOS and Siouxland Surgery Center paying the remaining $105,000, to the Medicare Trust Fund to settle a federal kickback case. CNOS physicians own a controlling interest in Siouxland Surgery Center. (Jun-23-06) [SIOUX CITY JOURNAL]
