PPG Industries Inc.

A federal judge in Pittsburgh ruled in favor of a $60 million settlement to be awarded to auto body shops who claimed that PPG Industries engaged in price fixing. It was alleged that PPG Industries conspired with other glassmakers, such as Guardian Industries, Pilkington PLC, Libbey-Owens-Ford Co., AFG Industries Inc., and Ford Motor Company by overcharging for flat glass products by approximately $310 million between 1991 and 1995. Although PPG has denied that is conspired with other glassmakers to overcharge for flat glass products, it has agreed to pay the $60 million settlement. (Feb-27-06) [CENTRE DAILY]
