Honda of Santa Monica

The Los Angeles district attorney filed a civil action against the car dealership for allegedly making false or misleading statements in contracts pertaining to the price of an anti-theft product included with sold and leased vehicles. This product cost the dealership $38 to install in each vehicle, but consumers were charged $300 to $1,000. Honda has agreed to a $1.37 million settlement. $829,000 in restitution will be paid to consumers from Los Angeles County and another $548,000 will be given to the district attorney's office for its costs in conducting the investigation and litigation.
