Squaw Valley Ski Corp.

Regulators from the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board claimed the ski resort caused pollution damage by dumping dirt into Squaw Creek during construction. In January 2002, Attorney General Lockyer filed a lawsuit on behalf of the water control board for continued disregard of water quality and other environmental standards. Squaw Valley Ski Corp. admits no liability, but agreed to a $900,000 settlement. (Aug-28-05) [ARIZONA DAILY SUN]
