Robert and Cynthia Knudson filed a lawsuit against the company alleging a faulty furnace caused a fire that burnt their infamous house. The Gnomes was a nineteenth century home made over by naturalist and artist Klir Beck. The Knudson's bought the heating system from Potter Oil Co. who installed and maintained it. Under the terms of the settlement the Knudsons are set to receive $140,000 while Middlesex Insurance Co. will receive $280,000 for paying the Knudsons $523,000 for property damage and related expenses.
