Environmental advocacy groups filed a lawsuit against the wood product manufacturer for allegedly violating the federal Clean Water Act. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality allegedly gave Georgia-Pacific's Wauna pulp and paper mill a flawed permit to dump wastewater into the Columbia River. Georgia-Pacific has agreed to pay a $250,000 settlement for habitat restoration work and pollution monitoring. (May-17-05) [OREGON LIVE]
