Kmart, Target, Sears Cleaners Launch Employment Class Action Lawsuit

Minneapolis, MN: Diversified Maintenance Systems is facing an employment class action lawsuit filed by 12 cleaning workers who allege unsafe working conditions. Specifically, the workers allege the company locked employees in a store overnight while they worked.

Diversified Maintenance Systems is a subcontractor to Kmart, Target, Sears and other stores, supplying cleaning services. It is possible that hundreds more workers may join the employment class action lawsuit, as the lawsuit may apply to workers at 130 stores.

Seventeen workers filed complaints with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in August, 2012, regarding alleged unsafe working conditions.
