Sunoco Inc. and Sun Pipeline Co.

In February 2000, an oil spill occurred in the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, near Philadelphia. A pipeline cracked and dispersed 192,000 gallons of crude oil into a pond and surrounding wetlands on the reserve. Sunoco Inc. and Sun Pipeline Co. have agreed to pay a $3.6 million settlement in the federal environmental lawsuit. (Jul-30-05) [POST GAZETTE]
