Hazard Insurance

If you have a mortgage on your home, your bank may be charging you for hazard insurance that you already have and do not need. Some banks are deducting money from escrow accounts to pay for duplicate insurance on their customers' homes. They do this without properly checking the records of insurance that the homeowners have given them. Many homeowners do not discover that they are paying for two insurance policies until their escrow account is depleted below required levels. Some homeowners never discover how they are being cheated.

In certain states, you may be entitled to triple damages, if the bank is found to have willfully or knowingly violated consumer protection laws.

If your bank is overcharging you for insurance you already have, then please fill in this form. Your case will be evaluated at no charge.

If your injustice does not match the complaint described above, please use this form to register your complaint. Thank you.
