American Suzuki Motor Corp. announces Safety recall of 3400 All Terrain Vehicles

On July 28th, 2005 American Suzuki Motor Corp. of Brea, California announced a voluntary recall of the 2004 and 2005 Suzuki "Twin Peaks" All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's). The recall involves approximately 3400 ATVs.

Reports indicate that a serious significant impact to the front wheel of the ATV while it is being steered fully turned to either side can result in suspension damage, wear and even loss of steering control that could result in serious injury.

American Suzuki Motor Corp., has received seven reports of ball joint separation in the front wheel suspension assembly. No injuries have been reported to date.

The recall covers all 2004 and 2005 Suzuki LT-V700S "Twin Peaks" ATVs. These ATVs are all painted yellow or blue and have "Twin Peaks" emblazoned on the fuel tanks. These ATVs were sold exclusively by Suzuki dealerships nationwide from January 2003 to July 2005 for about $7,100.

Manufactured in the United States, consumers are urged to discontinue use of these recalled ATVs and to contact their local Suzuki dealer for a free repair. Registered owners will be notified by mail.
