Buffalo, NYA negative impact on liver function is not amongst the more common Lisinopril side effects. Be that as it may, some patients taking the oft-prescribed treatment for high blood pressure have experienced Lisinopril liver damage, including a woman who posted to a blog in late 2010 that her (acute liver failure) was caused "by a blood pressure medicine called Lisinopril," Jennifer Roberts wrote in October of that year, by way of a post to the blog transplantcafe.com. "(Lisinopril) shut my liver down within six weeks."
Lisinopril warnings include caution with regard to liver function, although the potential for impact to the liver is rare. Nonetheless, side effects of Lisinopril are reported regularly given the number of prescriptions written for the popular blood pressure medication each year.
The Buffalo News (3/6/12) was among the newspapers carrying the syndicated column, "The People's Pharmacy," penned by Joe and Teresa Graedon. In response to a question by a reader, the Graedons noted that Lisinopril remains the most commonly prescribed blood pressure medication in the US, with some 77 million prescriptions filled each year.
While the potential for liver damage is among the most serious (albeit rare) adverse reactions to Lisinopril, there are other concerns that can be equally devastating for some patients. The reader inquiry against which the syndicated columnists were responding, related the case of her brother who had taken Lisinopril for a period of about four years to treat high blood pressure, with little incident.
Then, on January 15, the writer's brother experienced an allergic reaction that prompted a swelling of his throat and tongue. It was reported that the victim's airways had completely closed, presenting a challenge to emergency room staff at a local hospital attempting to insert a breathing tube in an effort to provide life-sustaining oxygen.
Sadly, the man went into cardiac arrest and while revived, it was reported he had suffered massive brain damage and subsequently passed away on the 8th of February. It was also reported that doctors at the hospital, examining the victim's medications, determined it was Lisinopril that served as the catalyst to the allergic reaction.
It is not known if the victim's family has or intends upon filing a Lisinopril lawsuit.
The Graedons noted in their response to the victim's sister that the reaction suffered by the victim can be identified as angioedema, side effects of Lisinopril characterized by the rapid swelling of the face, throat, tongue and air passageways. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors—a class of blood pressure drugs to which Lisinopril belongs—can trigger such an adverse reaction, even after a patient has been successfully taking the drug for some years.
The age of the Lisinopril victim was not reported in the syndicated article, however, it has been previously reported that the potential for Lisinopril liver damage is no respecter of demographics.
If you or a loved one have suffered losses in this case, please click the link below and your complaint will be sent to a drugs & medical lawyer who may evaluate your Lisinopril claim at no cost or obligation.

Brandy if you are on lisinopril this probably your problem.I have been on lisinopril for years with no problem .but in 2016 /2017.I gained over 150 pounds of extra weight.my thighs swoll and got to heavy to walk hardly..my stomach got big.my arms swoll.my left arm became sore.I.kept tell my doctors that I had fluid bill up.I told them I could feel water dripping in my body and I could feel water filling up just like a faucet had been turned on inside me. they kept telling my that I need to cut back on my meals and lose weight and these problems would go away.I was fatigued all the time.I could not clean my house properly.my knees swill up to the point that I could hardly walk .I walk stiff legged.it was hard to get in and out of cars. When my doctors told me to cut meals I told them I cut my meals over a year ago.I was told to go back to three meals a day.under 1200 calories.I got sciatica.my back became weak.I now use crutches to support my back and walking.my lips and face and throat began to swell.I could not understand what was happening to my .I stared wheezing .I got short of breath at times.times.there were times when I thought I would stop breathing. I had severe stomach pain. Sometimes my liver would hurt.I run back and forth to doctors.my trust in doctors have now gone down to the bottom rail.for years I was on lisinopril and did not know it would cause these problems in the body.no one uunderstood what I was going through.I got lisinopril in 2017 after constantly telling doctors that's I was swell up and being told I was eating to much.I prayed all to time for the Lord to take care of me.HE DID.

I was on this for 27 days and that was enough! I had shortness of breath, rapid heart beat, cough, congestion, and could not sleep for literally for 3 days because of the rapid heart beat and uncomfortable breathing.I also feel like this is poison and should not be sold.A week has passed and I still don't feel great.. but never again!

I have just had my six month checkup and blood work done. I told my Dr. that I was having pain in my stomach, fatique and other things I contributed to my thyroid defect however I just received a call from my Dr. Office that two of my markers were off and needed attention. One was that now my thyroid levels were too high instead of too low and my liver was showing signs of an issue.
I personally am attributing this liver situation to the Lisinopril . What do I do now.. cause I am not taking this med anymore while the Dr. tries to figure this out.. I have already battled cancer no way will I subject myself to live failure.. Time for a change.

A little over three years ago my husband had an anaphalactic reaction to lisinopril. His mouth, tongue and throat began swelling. By the time I got him to an ER he was having more trouble breathing. At the ER he was taken immediately to a room, put on a stretcher, intubated and put on a ventilator. When the ER doctor saw his list of medication he said don't ever give him that drug (or any ace inhibitors) again. In ICU the swelling increased until his whole body was swollen. His mental capacity was affected and he was very weak. For a few days he was taken off the ventilator but had to be re-intubated and sent back to ICU. He died three weeks after this began.
I have not tried to sue the makers of lisinopril because I thought it would be hopeless to try. I feel that no one should be given this drug.
In spite of all the claims about the dangers of this drug it continues to be prescribed. In fact I was recently told to take lisinopril but told the doctor I would not take it or any ace inhibitors.

I tried to sue Lisinopril due to angioedema on may 29th 2014, resulting in severe throat swelling, tissue swelling, put in medical coma for 14 days, on ventilator, stopped breathing three times when they tried to wean me off the ventilator. I now have a Trach scar because I needed emergency trachesotomy to keep me alive. I made my Doctor report this to the FDA, this is a dangerous drug, I also reported it in 2014. We all need to report our injuries, I have PTSD and a fear of taking new medications. I came home with a nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and a HHa. This drug has to be taken off the market

I had angioedema and hives for a solid year and thought it was food allergies, or other allergies because my doctor did not stop this medicine when I went to see her about the hives. I don't think she even knew. Then I had a severe episode where I passed out at a bus stop with severe angioedema over my entire head eyes swollen shut and difficulty breathing, I was given benadril drip in the ambulance which made me feel worse then the hospital gave me prednisone which made me even itchier, then they put me in a cab and sent me home from the ER. I have never felt so disgusted in my entire life. I also lost my temp job because of this drug and it was supposed to go permanent. I HATE LISINIOPRIL. I tell everyone it is poison. Dont' do this to your body. I now have untreated high bp because I am too afraid to take a drug. I was told that it might be the binder in the drug.

I just got home from severe reaction to this drug. Yesterday I went to local ER with swelling in the back of my throat and my vocal box. They transmitted me to Cleveland Clinic ER. The had to do two scopes on me and they determined my reaction was due to lisnopril. The ENT dr knew right away. Spent the night at the clinical. They gave me Many Medicines to get swelling to go down. My vocal box is injured at this moment (I have a job that I have speak all the time) they removed me immediately from lisnopril. Now I have to go back to ENT because my vocal cords are not closing properly now and may have to have some type of therapy to repair.
This medicine needs to be taken off the market said by me and the Cleveland Doctors and nurses.

I took one 20mg pill of Lisinopril, first time ever today, and within 15 minutes I felt extremely dizzy. My brain felt like it swelled up to the point where it felt like a brick was in my head. After 30 minutes passed, I suddenly felt like I was suffocating. Extreme anxiety took over. Even though air was getting into my lungs, it felt like they weren't absorbing enough oxygen. I somehow got through it by getting up and walking around vigorously for an hour, taking deep breaths, and drinking a gallon of water. I felt like I was fighting for my life. I was freaking out. It's been about 7 hours now and I feel much better. However, I think about 50% is still in my system because I can still sort of feel the side-effects. I feel sorry for the rest of you. I'm terrified of this stuff now and will never touch it again.

I was hospitalized because of the side effects of Lisinopril. My bottom lip swelled three times it's size. It gradually went away, but then my top lip swelled 5 times it's size. I could literally hold my lip in my hand. It was huge! I could not speak my airway was closing. A breathing tube was placed in my mouth. I was rushed from the med center to a near by emergency room via the ambulance. I received shots and several IV bags to get back to normal. This drug should not be on the market. It almost killed me.

Aug of 2014 my father (60 yrs old) went into emergency room with swelling of his throat and tongue. Epi-pens did nothing to stop the swelling. He underwent emergency tracheotomy surgery because a breathing tube wouldn't fit in his throat. He ended up suffering catastrophic brain damage from lack of oxygen and passed away a few days later. The Doctors reported that his death was caused by lisinopril. There are no lawyers nor law firms willing to touch his case. It is very sad reading on here how many people have been negatively affected by this drug. Something should be done. Some law firm should stand up and fight for people who have dealt with this.

I started taking lisinopril in September of last year. My first symptom was weight loss, 12lbs in five days. I throat was dry , I had a severe cough, I couldn' eat, loss my appetite, I felt warm sensations in my left foot, my legs felt weak, i felt a rattling feeling in my skin, I stopped taking lisinopril I October of last year, most symptoms have left, but I am scared because I am still losing weight, I have flank pain in both my sides, some days I feel extremely exhausted. This may sound strange but on the third day taking lisinopril I felt pulling in my head and face, and it was like I could feel blood or some fluid traveling to my head, it was so scary. I am scared with the continued weight loss, I may have cancer. Before taking lisinopril I couldn't loose a pound even when I tried, I haven,t taken any test such as scans, my anxiety is through the roof. I know that lisinopril did this to me. Something need to be done about this drug, it's not right to give this drug to anyone.

I have been taking lisinopril 5 mg for about 4 months or so to help with hypertensive headaches. In the last month, I had been getting extremely drowsy to the point I just had to lay down and sleep, this would occur several times throughout the morning, really bad, almost to the point of passing out, I had a stiff neck and pain that I had attributed to wearing my CPAP mask, I thought it was the strap, then I loosened it and that did not help, then I thought it was my pillow, the pain was so bad it was driving me nuts, it was a stiffness with pain located at the base of my head and neck, the pain was not palpable as if it were just merely attributed to my CPAP or pillow, I also have had extremely dry mouth, a bit of a cough, less urine output to the point of it darkening, overall fatigue and tiredness and feeling unwell. I had a hard time discerning the extra fatigue because I already deal with fatigue from rheumatoid arthritis and peripheral neuropathy, well I started to search the internet to resolve this problem, I had thought that lisinopril was a relatively low risk medicine, was I wrong! everything just fell into place as has usually been the case when you pay attention to the side effects, I had side stepped the info because my husband had taken it with no complaints, I will never do it again on account of someone else experience. I simply took it for granted because it was reducing my headaches but boy did it give me more problems than a headache. lisinopril also gave me a real bad upper back pain, like your muscles were strained and burning, my arms were also going numb more often, and dizziness, it also seemed to aggravate my rheumatoid and caused more intense flare ups. This is the first day I stopped taking this medicine and would you know, I don't have any neck pain this morning, I don't feel like I want to pass out in my chair either, go figure! usually by now I would be uncontrollably dozing off and incapable of accomplishing anything until way later in the day when the meds wear off a bit. It would take several hours for me to come around to about half normal after taking just one pill...I absolutely cannot see or justify anyone taking this medicine never the less take a higher dose than I was taking only 5 mg? I feel for anyone who has taken much more. This medicine is highly dangerous! I could not drive to go anywhere and yet there are people that do! Here I am too going to my doctors telling them I think it was my CPAP or maybe my pillow or just maybe my existing conditions, well not until this "revelation" occurred. If it was not for the people whom shared their stories I would still be taking this horrible medicine. Thank you everyone for sharing and saving me from more debilitation! Yes, there should be a class action suit! This medicine is not being properly disclosed to patients by their doctors or by the prescribing cautions. I think the improper disclosure is in the frequency that these side effects occur and are majorly under reported. A lot of people have been harmed and have even lost their lives because this medicine is not seen as the great threat that it is and is prescribed so heavily that it is looked at like a vitamin. For shame!

This horrible drug caused me to feel like I had daggers going into my head. The pain and pressure was unbearable. It was only after I skipped 2 doses that I realized what was causing the problem. A CT scan showed that my brain was very swollen. It also caused my blood pressure to go even higher. Started on 10 mg. and every time the blood pressure would rise, the dr. would increase the dosage. This is a deadly drug that was initially made from the poisonous venom of the Brazilian Pit Viper.

My friend just underwent a removal of his kidney. He had been taking this drug for about a year.
This was a painful surgery and the recovery time is 4 to 6 weeks.
I am going to advise him to look into this after reading these comments.
Thank goodness his urologist took him off this drug almost immediately. This urologist mentioned this drug as a possible cause of his liver cancer.
We hope it hasn't spread, so far it hasn't.

My husband started taking Lisinopril 10 mg. a couple days after Thanksgiving 2014 for elevated B.P., after 2 wks it wasn't enough and Hydrochlorothiazide was added. Approximately 5 to 6 wks. later he started to have itching of his skin, he was extremly fatigued and had all day nausea. As a R.N. of 37 yrs. my instincts told me it was related to the B.P. med and diuretic and he was showing signs of liver damage. That Monday was the last day he took his medicine. On Tuesday at appt. with N.P. for blood pressure check my husbands complaints were not taken seriously or related to the medicine, when he came home and told me this I told him to immediately call the office and ask them to order labs to be done, When giving the urine sample he noticed it was dark brown and when he told me this I looked closer to his skin and noticed that he was starting to look jaundiced, he called office and explained all this and made appt. to see the Dr. in the morning. The next morning I got a call from the Dr. and a stat abdominal CT scan w/ contrast was ordered that was negative. I told Dr. I thought the lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide was responsible and he said no and proceeded to order more blood work as he was now saying that maybe my husband had hepatitis. Needless to say Hepatitis A,B &C came back negative. We see the Dr. again on this Monday and he referred him to a gastroenterologist this coming Thursday. I think the family Dr. now understands that my husband started his b.p. med after Thanksgiving instead of when he originally ordered it in October and now says stop all meds, no alcohol and no Tylenol. Maybe now we'll get somewhere. Why do these Dr.'s think these meds are faultless?

On Jan. 13, 2015, I woke up at six am and my tongue was swollen and my face and neck was swollen so bad. I could hardly breathe. I went to the ER and they said that I had a reaction to LISINOPRIL. My diagnosis was Ace Inhibitor Aggravated Angioedema included Lung Failure causing loss of Breath. This was a very trying time for me. I had been on this medicine for at least ten years. I was at told at the hospital that they are seeing more and more people coming thru the ER with these symptoms caused from LISINOPRIL. I really fell that this needs to be looked into.

I was placed on Lisinopril/HCT to bring down my blood pressure. I had mild swelling and soreness in my uvula for several years after starting on this drug but had become accustomed to this and dismissed it as a symptom of snoring. Then today I woke up to find my throat nearly close due to extreme swelling in my uvula. Fortunately I was able to breath through my nose and decided quickly to get myself to an emergency room. The doctors decided to immediately take me off lisinopril. it will take a week or two to see if this reduces the symptoms but if this is the cause as I suspect it is, this danger presented by this drug is insidious because of the subtle and varying effects which may not be severe or intuitively tied to the drug, and which can erupt suddenly into a life threatening situation.

Im a 36 yr old female with CHF. Ive been on lisinopril snice 2009 and suffer sever abdominal cramping, boating, and vomiting while taking this drug. I cant seem to get anyone to listen to my complaints(not even cardiologist). They seem to always want to throw it off on having GI issues. Thats not the case. When i first developed CHF that was the same thing i was told. No one thought to look for heart problems in a 31 yr old. Im getting very frustrated with doctors not listening to the complaints of patients. I was recently in the ER last friday with those awful symptoms, and no one wants to say its from this drug. Shockingly my neighbor was put on lisinopril last week and she had the same reaction I did, only she ended up dehydrated. The doctors told her she had a bug, and that was what her vomiting came from : / Something needs to be done about this drug.

My Mother has been taking this drug for several years. On September, 17th 2014 her lips and face started swelling. She went to the doctor twice and they passed it off as a food allergy, but could never pin point the allergy. After several weeks the swelling has yet to go down. My Father takes the same medication and in the past few weeks has developed issues with sever joint pain and swelling in his elbow and ankles. I took it upon myself to research the medication they are taking and lisinopril has lots of awful side effects. After finding out this information she contacted her Doctor and the nurse laughed it off and asked what made her think it was lisinopril. So my mother proceeded to educate the nurse on the side effects of lisinopril. As of today her medication has been changed and we will see if the swelling goes down or if the swelling of the face is something she will always have to live with. I also have an Aunt who passed away in August of 2013 and she was on lisinopril and suffered from facial swelling, went to her doctor several times and was told nothing was wrong with her. A few days later she had a massive heart attack and died. I truly wonder, if this drug is the cause of her death. It should be removed from the market!!!!!!

On December 9, 2012 I had a big knot to appear on the side of my tongue. I was rushed to the ER and my mouth and throat began to swell so bad I had to be put on a ventilator. I was on it for 3days and in ICU for a total of 6days. I was told by doctors that it was angiodema which came from taking lisinipril. I had been on it for years. If I hadn't got to the Er in time I would be DEAD!

My brother took lisinopril last Monday and it made him feel bad. So he decided not to take it anymore but after a few days he started having a sore throat and by Saturday morning his tongue had swollen so much it filled his entire mouth and was suffocating him. Now he is in intensive care with pneumonia and kidney problems and the doctors said it was an allergic reaction to lisinopril, now tell me this, is he the only person this has happened to, I seriously doubt it, my other question is why is this drug on the market and approved(IS IT) I'm not sure so I have called a lawyer and he is going to call me back to see if there is any action we can take. If anyone can let me know if there are any lawsuits pending or settled on this subject please post so we can get some knowledge about this.

I have suffered with severe coughing, choking mucous, constant sneezing, muscle weakness, and extreme fatigue since beginning this drug almost a year ago for elevated BP. It began with fluid buildup in my ears. My health has gotten progressively worse on this drug. I was told at the beginning it was a safe effective drug of long standing. I finally traced my problem to the Lisinopril after realizing all the nasty symptoms I was having began when I first started taking Lisinopril. I discontinued 2 days ago and the symptoms haven't abated. I have no idea what else it has done or will do to me, but I am very frightened by this hideous drug, and more than angry due to what I've been through all this time. My heart goes out to other victims and the ones who are still taking this Frankenmed.

I was hospitalized twice from lisinopril. It shut down my spleen, enlarged my liver and severe intestional angioedema. the first symptoms started within hours of taking it, extreme stomach pain and vomiting and by the 2nd day I was hospitalized with fluid around my spleen (spleen infarctions) and an enlarged liver. Unfortunately, the ER docs jsut assuemd it was a coinicidence that I had just started lisinopril as my frist question was "could I be allergic to it, I just started taking it" but they brushed it off and almost removed my spleen! After 7 weeks of extreme pain, 13 lbs of weight loss, numerous tests and hospitalized twice for sevearl days each stay, with no answers, my GYN backed me up that he thought it was a medication allergy. As soon as I stopped taking it the symptoms went away, but now I have spleen and other organ damage, as well as intestinal metaplasia a pre-cancerous condition in my stomach due to the damage from lisinopril. I was very healthy prior to this, at age 45, had a borderline elvated bp of 130/85, and doc had suggested I start on 10 mg of lisinopril. Worst 7 weeks of my life. The only thing I was warned about was a persistent cough as a side effect. I am on HCTZ now and that is it and my BP came down.

I started having allergic reactions a year ago it started in my mouth, it was bruised all up. Went to three E.R's and no one knew what it was. Two months later my entire chest was bruised up. Then I was fine for months. This March I woke up with my mouth swollen so big that the sides started to burst and changed colors. Went to the doctors and they said they no idea what was wrong. No one this entire time said it was my blood pressure medication. They put me on steroids and as soon as I stop taking it the reaction came back worse each time for two months. By the Third time I went to E.R. this time I finally got a doctor that said I was lucky that they could open my airway this time. She had did a study on Lisinopril and it caused this reaction to Afro-american more then any other race. I woke up with bruising so bad on my face I looked like someone beat me up in the middle of the night. I was always lucky that I had an Eppi pen next to my bed. We had to use it several times to keep me alive. Along with steroids and Benadryl. My daughter woke me just in time one Sunday because we had somewhere to go. Otherwise I would have died in my sleep. My tongue was so swollen, I couldn't talk or breathe. I've lost my taste buds, my eyes stay swollen, my face is always puffy. Then on top of everything they gave me so many steroids that its ruined my face with scars and out breaks along with the scars from the bruising. I always feel like I'm being choked, and I've been off the medication for two months and it's not that much better. I have to stay on allergy medication all day and night just to live. Why isn't this a known fact before they give this drug? It's scary living this way. And I've lost a lot because of it.

The same thing happened to me on yesterday and I am still swollen. Both of the doctors told my mom & husband if I would have waited a few more hours, then I would be dead. I was scared to go to sleep because I couldn't breathe but after the med, I could drink from straw. This drug is very dangerous and I think a class action suit needs to be in place for this. My husband and I is thinking bout doing that..

I was put on Lisinopril a few months ago because my PCP thought it was a good medicine to try on someone my age (29) who was going on blood pressure medicine for the first time. On 3/17 My bottom lip started to swell, and by the time I made it to the urgent care half of my lip was swollen at least 3 times its normal size. The PA at the urgent care called it "allergic cellulitis" said that it was an allergic reaction to something I had eaten over the past 24-36 hours, and I needed to try and find out what caused it. He gave me a steroid shot, told me to start taking Claritin, and to put some ice on it. I didn't think too much else about it, only that it was the most odd thing that's ever happened to me. Then yesterday around 3:30, I felt my top lip start to swell on one side. I had just put rarely used chapstick on, so I wiped it off quickly, took a Benadryl, and put some ice on my lip. The swelling didn't go away or increase for the next several hours. Around 9:30 last night I could tell the swelling was getting worse and taking up more of my lip. I took another Benadryl at 10. Around 3am I woke up and it was now my entire lip that was swollen 3x normal size. I took another Benadryl, and when I woke up at 7 it was no better. I went to an urgent care where the doctor diagnosed me with Angioedema and extremely high BP: 145/93. She took me off the Lisinopril, changed me to Losartin, and gave me a steroid shot. My lip is working its way back to normal, and I have a call in to my PCP to schedule a follow up and clear the medicine change.
I am extremely grateful that I didn't have the throat and tongue swelling that many experience. And I am telling everyone I know about this medicine!

I'm only 31yrs old and my doctor put me on this drug I told him that I did not want to take it because of the side effects I read made me feel uneasy. He told me that those are just a small possibility to mot worry. If I didn't take it I could end up in the hospital! And that I can stop taking it as soon as my high blood pressure gets under control. I excersise 3-4 times a week eat healthy labs came back great! and I've lost 6 pounds because of stress from what my doctor told me. I went from 128- 122lbs in a short time. I was unsure as to why he was so persistent on prescribing it to me. So, I took it anyways on a Mon. Two days later I begain to experience extreme dizziness, nausea and trouble concentrating. I didn't know why I just assumed it was nothing serious. By that Sat I was at wrk and my tempatue felt extremely high, my bottom lip began to swell within one hour, had vomiting, chest pains, and trouble breathing! Was admitted to the emergency room and they had to hook a oxygen tube around my nose to help me breath, had extreme pressure on my chest, was on a EKG machine to monitor my heart. I showed up in emergency with my lip swollen within a 1-2hr period my entire mouth and face was swollen. They had to keep me there to be sure my tongue and throat did not begin to swell too which would block my air passage completely bcuz my face swelling was so rapid. Gave me a shot of Benadryl and a few other shots one on which to prevent me from going into cardiac arrest. I was recently released and my breathing has finally got back to normal. but my body muscles are still very weak and I am still waiting for my face swelling to go away. I am missing days of work because of this drug that I told my doctor I did not want to be on in the first place. He gave it to me scaring me to believe of I didn't take it I would be in the hospital due to my high blood pressure but taking it put me in the hospital and I could've died if I did not get there as soon as I did.
Do not take this drug! If there is a class action lawsuits for those that have used this and went through what I did I will be happy to get involved to remove this drug from the market!

Due to the fact that there are SO many complaints against this so called "medicine" Lisinopril (See medications.com/lisinopril as 1 example), why are there no class action lawsuits against this drug manufacturer & or why are there no attorneys out there willing to take on cases against this company? I know Doctors are getting kickbacks off these Drug Companies, but are Lawyers getting kickbacks as well? All it takes is a few clicks of the mouse to find thousands of people complaining about this drug & yet no one will do anything about it. I mean what does a person have to do to get justice in this Country, spill coffee on themselves?

I have had numerous times where my lip, face and hands have swollen up and came to find out it was the Lisinopril that I have been taken for years also. I lip was so enlarged that it put tremendous pressure on my teeth and gums, and it took at least 3 days for the swelling to start to go down. It was scary each time I have had some swelling in my throat a few times where I could not breathe but it subsided after getting some benadryl down. This medication needs to be taken off the market along with others that cause this type of reaction.
