GMC Yukon Crash

Los Angeles, CA: (Feb-20-08) A California teenager, who was a passenger in a GMC Yukon accident, brought an automobile defect claim against General Motors Corporation. The suit stated that on Jul. 7, 2006, Michael Samardzich was a passenger in a GMC Yukon driven by Vincent Ibarra. Traveling westbound on Golden Springs Drive in Los Angeles County, Ibarra made a left turn at the intersection of Diamond Bar Boulevard. At the same time, Steven Jinseon Kang was operating a vehicle proceeding eastbound on Golden Springs Drive and hit the GMC truck on the right passenger's side. Records show that the impact shattered the side passenger window of the GMC Yukon. Glass shards pierced and ruptured Samardzich's left eye, permanently blinding him. Samardzich was properly restrained at the time of the accident. The personal injury case, filed in Los Angeles County, was resolved after the parties reached a settlement agreement, which included a payout of a confidential amount. [YAHOO: CAR CRASH SETTLEMENT]
