Fired Cop

Tonawanda, NY: (Feb-20-08) Brian MacDonald, a former Police Officer, brought a lawsuit against the city of Tonawanda, alleging that he was wrongfully terminated. MacDonald was fired in May 2006 after being found guilty of 17 misconduct charges in the department. The five-year veteran endured a lengthy departmental hearing process while he was suspended for several incidents in 2005. Sources close to the case stated that the parties had reached a settlement in which the city reached a confidential agreement with MacDonald, agreeing to pay him $47,000 for lost wages, benefits and interest. The settlement was authorized by Mayor Ronald Pilozzi, resolving the 2006 wrongful termination claims. [BUFFALO NEWS: FIRED COP]
