Police Manhandling

San Francisco, CA: (Jan-08-08) Kelly Medora, a preschool teacher at Helen Diller Family Preschool, brought a lawsuit against the city, alleging that a San Francisco police officer broke her arm. Medora claimed that she sustained a spiral break to her left arm as a result of the manhandling. The police department's counterclaim stated that Medora and her friend, kindergarten teacher Christine Hollander fled from police who tried to cite them for standing in the street. As part of a settlement reached, both sides agreed to resolve the suit after the city agreed to pay $235,000. The settlement put an end to the two-year-long suit that stemmed from the Jan. 23, 2005 incident [EXAMINER: POLICE MANHANDLING]
