Township Manager

Hilltown Township, PA: (Nov-15-07) Ken Bennington, Hilltown Township's manager, brought charges against the township over his severance package. As part of a settlement reached, sources revealed that the township agreed to pay Bennington $20,244, sealing the deal. Officials claimed that the payout represents the remainder of the $72,100 salary that Bennington would have gotten had he worked through the end of the year, as well as more than three weeks worth of accrued sick and vacation time. In exchange for the lump-sum payment, Bennington, who held the job since September 2005, agreed not to take legal action or file any claims against the township. He also agreed to cooperate with the township on ongoing or future township investigations with which he was involved while township manager. Further, he also agreed not to apply or be considered for future township jobs. Records show that Bennington spent 16 years as a supervisor and five on the Planning Commission before becoming manager. [MORNING CALL: TOWNSHIP MANAGER]
