New York, NY: (Oct-22-07) Timeline Inc. brought a lawsuit against Microsoft Corp., alleging that the software giant infringed on its patents. Timeline, a Seattle patent-holding company, stated in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it had reached a settlement with Microsoft and that the dispute will be resolved after Microsoft pays $5 million in damages. Microsoft agreed to pay Timeline $5 million within 14 days as part of the settlement. Timeline, which describes itself as a company that is solely focused on commercializing its patent portfolio, had named the Redmond computer giant and its subsidiary ProClarity Corp. as defendants in the suit.
