Gender Bias

Fresno, CA: (Oct-11-07) Former associate athletic director, Diane Milutinovich filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit against Fresno State University. In her lawsuit, Milutinovich alleged that the university reassigned her to another position in 2002 and fired her in 2006 because she had advocated for equal treatment for female athletes. The university claimed Milutinovich's job was eliminated to save money five years ago and did not explain why she was placed on leave last year. In a settlement reached, Fresno State University has agreed to pay $3.5 million to end the lawsuit. Milutinovich's case is one of three lawsuits filed by women who accuse the university of retaliating against them for advocating for gender equity. [ESPN: GENDER BIAS]
