Plymouth, PA: (Jul-24-07) William Brown, 52, from Plymouth, brought a lawsuit against borough Officer John Vanderlick, alleging that he was assaulted while being arrested on a baseless charge. Brown said Vanderlick used excessive force in tossing him to the ground and arrested him for no reason, which proved true when Brown was acquitted on all charges. The forceful arrest resulted in Brown sustaining injuries, including a broken toe, injuries to arms and wrists, various cuts, abrasions, and contusions. In a settlement reached, the federal lawsuit was resolved with a $90,000 payout. [CITIZENS VOICE: POLICE FORCE]
