Johnson Outdoors Inc.

Milwaukee, WI: (Jul-11-07) Confluence Holdings Corp., a competing manufacturer and distributor of kayaks, canoes, and paddle sports accessories based in Trinity, NC, filed an intellectual property dispute against Johnson Outdoors Inc., a manufacturer of outdoor recreational products including Old Town canoes and kayaks, Humminbird fish finders, and Minn Kota motors. In a settlement reached, Johnson Outdoors agreed to pay $4.4 million to settle the dispute. Racine-based Johnson Outdoors said other terms of the settlement, which does not include an admission of wrongdoing, will remain confidential. Johnson Outdoors has made a claim for recovery with its insurance company, but it does not expect a resolution in fiscal 2007. [MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY]
