Murphy City, TX

Murphy City, TX: (Jul-04-07) Former city manager Craig Sherwood reached a settlement with the Murphy city councilmen, following his separation from the city. His severance pay was in question and the settlement agreement included the payment of $255,000, provision of insurance benefits for up to one year or until he obtains new employment, and vacation benefits. The settlement agreement also provided the opportunity for transition assistance at an hourly rate of $75 not to exceed $25,000, with the authorization to the mayor to execute appropriate documentation, effective July 5 2007, to amend Sherwood's contract with the City. The settlement was reached after Councilmember Eric Barna seconded the motion. A vote was taken, and the motion passed, 6-0. [INSIDE BUISNESS: MANAGER SEVERANCE]
