Los Angeles, CA: (May-09-07) Sasha Emerson, a female subordinate at Time Warner Inc.'s HBO filed suit against Chris Albrecht, chairman and chief executive of Home Box Office, alleging that he shoved and choked her. In a settlement reached, HBO paid at least $400,000 to end the physical abuse and battery suit. The settlement was overseen by Time Warner President Jeffrey Bewkes, who at the time was a top executive at the cable network. Albrecht temporarily stepped aside as chairman and chief executive of Home Box Office on the 8th of May, 2007, following charges that he assaulted his girlfriend. A 22-year HBO veteran and the creative force behind such hit series as "The Sopranos," Albrecht admitted to having a drinking problem and said that he would take a voluntary leave.
