Kingsland Lounge

Ocala, FL: (Apr-18-07) Beverly Ann McCullough, 47, was in a highly intoxicated state when she was struck by vehicles and killed near a bar. Her daughter, Shelly McCullough, filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of her mother's estate in 2006, alleging that the bar at which her mother was drinking, the Kingsland Lounge, was responsible for her death. The suit alleged that Beverly Ann McCullough was so drunk that night that she passed out at the bar, and on waking, employees continued to serve her alcohol again. In doing so, the bar knowingly violated Florida law and failed to protect a known, problem drinker, resulting in the death of McCullough. In a settlement reached, Kingsland Lounge agreed to pay the two daughters who survive Beverly Ann McCullough $500,000, resolving the claims. [OCALA NEWS: INTOXICATED DEATH]
