Red Bluff, CA

Red Bluff, CA: (Apr-10-07) Kelly Meek, a former police officer, sued the city after she lost her job in 2004, alleging that the police department discriminated against her. Meek was fired from Red Bluff after five years in the Police Department at various jobs. The suit claimed that Meek was denied a locker room facility apart from male personnel, and eventually stopped getting back up from fellow officers on high-risk calls. Meek was involved in an incident where she was injured and when she requested that she be paid worker's compensation for her time away from the job, Meek claimed the city insisted it be counted as vacation. The city reached a settlement with her, paying her $30,000 as compensation. [CHICO ENTERPRISE RECORD: EMPLOYEE GENDER DISCRIMINATION]
