Southwest Airlines

Oakland, CA: (Mar-27-07) A lawsuit brought against Southwest Airlines by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleged that Southwest, which is based in Dallas, failed to respond to sexual harassment complaints made by three female employees against a male co-worker. Denying allegations, Southwest Airlines agreed to pay $100,000 to settle the sexual harassment suit filed on behalf of the female employees at Southwest's facility at the Oakland International Airport. The consent decree provides $100,000 in monetary awards and requires Southwest to revise its harassment policy, provide its employees with a copy of the new policy, and conduct anti-harassment and retaliation training for its Oakland provisioning department managers.
