Brian Luce, Madison Area Memorial High School

Skowhegan, ME: (Mar-20-07) A lawsuit was filed by Dina Richard, Anders Olafson's mother, against Brian Luce, an assistant football coach at Madison Area Memorial High School, alleging that Luce physically abused Olafson, resulting in physical injuries. The suit accused Luce of knocking Olafson down from the rear during a September 19, 2006 practice session. The blow caused a separation to Olafson's s right shoulder that required surgery. In a settlement reached in the Somerset County Superior Court, the judge decided to award $12,500 to Olafson, while his medical bills, which amount to $5,648, will be covered by MaineCare.
