Pittsburgh, PA: (Mar-09-07) Deven Werling filed suit against the city in federal court alleging he was roughed up by a police sergeant at a hot dog shop in the city's neighborhood in October 2004. Werling claimed that he had been injured during the arrest. The sergeant who he named was later fired after investigations showed that he had contradicted himself under oath. The city of Oakland, FL reached a settlement with Werling by agreeing to pay him $200,000. [CENTRE DAILY: OFF-DUTY ARREST]
