Mothers Work Inc.

The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit against the maternity clothing company alleging pregnancy discrimination and retaliation. The lawsuit claimed Mothers Work discriminated against a pregnant employee and two prospective pregnant employees. A manager who complained about the discrimination was subsequently fired. Mothers Work will pay a $375,000 settlement to end the lawsuit.

Mothers Work is based in Philadelphia and has 807 stores trading under the names Motherhood Maternity, Mimi Maternity, A Pea in the Pod, and Destination Maternity.
