Circuit City Stores Inc. and Martinair Inc.

Roanoke, VA: In February 2005, eight people were aboard the electronics company corporate jet when it crashed and killed all those aboard. The plane was en route from Richmond to Santa Ana; it was battling icy conditions on approach to the Pueblo airport where it was stopping to refuel. Kyle Jeffrey Harmon, a 26-year-old assistant buyer for Circuit City, was one of the victims. His wife filed a wrongful death complaint in Roanoke County Circuit Court against the company and Martinair, who managed the plane. Circuit City and Martinair agreed to pay $3.5 million to Angela Harmon out-of-court. (Dec-08-06) [DAILY PRESS:]
