On September 27, 2005, Don Svec, an employee of Berry Electric, was lost and using his BlackBerry's navigation device to try to find his destination. Svec ran a red light and crashed into 70-year-old Dorothy Barnes. She was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where she underwent five surgeries, including two on her neck.
