Richard Scrushy

Richard Scrushy, founder of the HealthSouth Corporation, was ousted in 2003 after auditors uncovered a $2.7 billion accounting fraud at the chain of rehabilitation centers. HealthSouth agreed to credit $21 million in Scrushy's legal fees against the $52 million he owed for inflated bonuses.
