Reading, PA and James Palange

Reading, PA: On June 4, 2004, Michael Wise II and two other patrolmen were working undercover when a gunfight erupted. Officer James Palange arrived on the scene and mistakenly fired at the undercover officers. Wise was shot by Palange and died shortly after. His widow filed a wrongful death civil suit against the city of Reading and the other officer. The city has reached a tentative $1.75 million settlement.
