Valley Vista Care Center
This is a settlement for the Nursing Homes lawsuit.
St. Maries, ID: In 1995, 86-year-old Delbert Hayward died while at the nursing home. His family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Valley Vista Care Center claiming he had been controlled, abused and killed with massive doses of the anti-psychotic drug Haldol. In May 2006, a jury in St. Maries awarded the Hayward's survivors $18 million. Lawyers for both sides announced the case was settled for $3.5 million. (Nov-07-06)
