Los Angeles City, CA

Los Angeles - Firefighter John Hernandez filed a lawsuit against the city claiming he was harassed by a supervisor and then suffered retaliation from other supervisors. After learning Hernandez was raped as a child, the supervisor, a fire department captain, allegedly made repeated lewd and sexually suggestive comments and gestures from October 2003 to February 2005. Hernandez filed an internal complaint in March 2005 against the captain and claimed fire department supervisors retaliated against him by removing him from duty for nine months. The Los Angeles City Council approved a $220,000 settlement for the firefighter. (Oct-11-06) [CBS NEWS]
